PADDLE THE ANACOSTIA RIVER OUTSIDE NATIONALS PARK!
Experience the cheers of the crowd like never before! Paddle your way around the Capitol Riverfront in Southeast DC right outside Nationals Park and enjoy all the Anacostia River has to offer. Enjoy a paddle past DC’s historic Navy Yard and check out sites like the U.S. Capitol, USS Barry, and Fort McNair. You can even listen to the home run roar of Nationals Stadium or watch a Friday evening concert at Yards Park right from the water! You may even be lucky enough to catch a homerun ball.
Nearby Yards Park is a beautiful, relaxing spot loaded with exciting outdoor activities where you can enjoy a post-paddle picnic and ice cream, or just kick back and enjoy the sun. We recommend that you check out everything the park has to offer. Visit Yards Park and plan your paddle around the fun events that might be going on!
A GPS will usually find “Diamond Teague Park” OR the intersection of Potomac Ave. SE and First St. SE. There is plenty of street parking available, especially on the weekends, and a garage at Nationals Stadium. Just make sure you check the Nationals game schedule – public transportation is much easier than driving during baseball games.
The nearest metro stop is Navy Yard (on the green line) and is just a short walk south on First St. SE toward the riverfront. We are on the dock with all the colorful boats and friendly staff in orange shirts!
Paddlers, outdoor enthusiasts, and environmentalists unite! As lovers of the waters, our hearts cry a little bit with each piece of trash we see floating by the boathouse. In an effort to make a positive impact on our community and make new friends, we are partnering with the American Canoe Association to run a regular community cleanup on the Anacostia River! Grab some friends and join us at Ballpark Boathouse and see what community and fun is all about!
