Tackle the Fletchers Boathouse fishing challenge! With access to the Potomac River as well as the historic Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, Fletchers Boathouse has been a locally renowned paddling and unique fishing destination since the 1850s. Visit the Tackle Shack for expertly chosen fishing tackle suitable for local angling, not to mention snacks and refreshments!
You can also seize the day at this quaint DC boathouse with any of your favorite boating rentals like paddling, rowboating, canoeing and kayaking. Or, experience the area through one of our spectacular guided kayak nature tours. If you’re more of a landlubber, you and your family can rent bicycles for a leisurely ride along the many miles of beautiful trails.
Fletchers offers a selection of fishing tackle including Okuma brand spinning rod and reel combos, Eagle Claw hooks, Spider Wire monofilament, Mepps, Rooster Tail and Cotton Cordell brand lures and Water Gremlin sinkers. Fletchers also carries the best selection of shad darts and spoons in the Mid-Atlantic region.

From 495, take the Glen Echo exit onto Clara Barton Parkway. Follow Clara Barton Parkway until it becomes Canal Road at Chain Bridge. Continue on Canal Road until the entrance of Fletchers at Canal and Reservoir. *Please consider that Canal Road access is subject to weekday morning and evening one way rush hour restrictions.
From 66 East, take the Rosslyn exit to Key Bridge. Take a left onto Canal Road after crossing over Key Bridge. Bear left at Foxhall to stay on Canal Road and continue onward until the entrance of Fletchers at Canal and Reservoir.
Parking is available on both sides of the canal.Go through the auto tunnel under the canal to reach the west side parking lot.
