Spring has sprung, and The Wharf Boathouse is reopening its kayak rentals just in time for the cherry blossom season! Experience the breathtaking beauty of D.C.’s iconic cherry blossoms from the unique vantage point of the water. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and serene landscapes of the Washington Channel.
To enhance your experience, join one of our Cherry Blossom Kayak Tours. These guided tours offer insightful narratives about the history and significance of the cherry blossoms, all while you paddle amidst their stunning beauty. Tours depart from The Wharf Boathouse on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Coinciding with the return of kayak rentals, The Wharf is hosting Bloomaroo, a free, family-friendly spring festival on March 29th from 4 PM to 9 PM. Enjoy live music across multiple stages, engage in hands-on activities like koi kite decorating and haiku creation, and indulge in cherry blossom-themed food and drinks. The evening culminates with a spectacular fireworks display over the Washington Channel around 8:30 PM.
